Evolutionary Design of (Complex) Systems

Current Definition
Based on empirical findings that successful systems (software systems, buildings, cities) evolve, a paradigm shift is needed which is based on the following requirements: software systems must evolve; they cannot be completely designed prior to use; they must evolve at the hands of the users and they must be designed for evolution. DODEs, being based on the SER model, support evolutionary process at the architecture level, the domain, and the artifact level.
